Intermediate Orchestra
Intermediate Orchestra is using Google Classroom during our distance/online learning for Q4. The class code for this class is: a55cry7
Students must log into Google Classroom with their school district email account ([email protected])
The intermediate orchestra is a group that is open to students who pass an audition for Ms. Carrigan. The students in this class have at least one year of playing experience and are already comfortable reading notes and rhythms. The students learn how to read and understand key signatures (sharps and flats), how to play the new notes that go along with the key signatures (including extended position for cello), working more on orchestral playing - balancing, blending, tuning, how to read, count, and play more complex rhythms, and continue working on establishing a quality string sound.
A few reminders:
All students need to keep their finger nails clipped
All violin/viola students need a shoulder rest
All cello/bass students need a rock stop
All students need a copy of our method book: Essential Elements for Strings Vol. 2 (for the correct instrument)
Students must practice every night (the material we cover during class)
Attend one concert per quarter and evaluate it
Perform in the concerts listed in the course disclosure
